What made this experience even more meaningful was that dad was the one who reached out to book the maternity session as a surprise for mom. Capturing a Baby Bump — and the Story Behind It
From the moment mom stepped into the studio, you could feel how loved and supported she was. Our goal for this studio maternity photoshoot was to highlight her baby bump while also honoring her journey into motherhood for the second time.
We created a relaxed, intimate environment so she could fully enjoy the experience—something she didn’t get the chance to do during her first pregnancy. These images weren’t just about posing; they were about connection, reflection, and celebration.
Big Brother’s Love Made the Session Extra Sweet
One of my favorite parts of this maternity session was including their first born son. Watching him cuddle close to his mom, gently loving on her belly, was incredibly heartwarming. These moments perfectly captured the transition from one child to two and the beginning of a new sibling bond.
Including children in maternity photos adds so much depth, and this session was a beautiful reminder that maternity photography is about the whole family—not just the bump.
Recreating a Meaningful Nursing Photo
To make the session even more personal, mom wanted to recreate a nursing-style portrait from her first postpartum experience. We styled a similar outfit to honor that original photo, but this time the focus was simply on her connection with her firstborn.
