Looking for a Miami Photographer Who’s Great With Kids?
If you’re looking for a Miami photographer who’s great with kids, let me tell you something right away:
Your kids do not need to sit still for me. In fact, I don’t want them to!
One of the biggest things I hear from parents before a family session is, “My kids are never going to cooperate for photos.” Or, “They absolutely cannot sit still for an hour.”
And my answer is always the same: That’s okay!
Actually, that’s exactly what I want.
When I photograph families, I’m not looking for perfectly posed children sitting quietly and smiling at the camera. I want to see your kids. I want the giggles, the movement, the silly faces, the dancing, the cuddles, the little personalities, and all those wonderfully imperfect moments that make your family yours.
That’s why I love in-home family photography and a relaxed lifestyle approach. We get to let the session unfold naturally, and I get to capture the connection between everyone along the way.
“But how do we prepare for our family session?”
I’ve got you! Before your session, I’ll give you plenty of information so you know exactly what to expect. I’ll walk you through what to wear (sometimes even holding hands if needed), how to prepare your home, what happens during the session, and anything else you need to know.
My goal is for you to show up feeling prepared—but not stressed.
You don't need to practice smiling.
You don't need to bribe everyone with candy. Maybe LOL
Instead, be ready to hang out with your people.
“My kids never cooperate for photos.”
I hear this one all the time and I completely understand why parents worry about it. You’re imagining your toddler running away, your big kid refusing to smile, or everyone looking in a different direction.
But here’s the thing: I work with that.
If your kids want to play, we play.
If they want to dance, we dance.
If they’re feeling silly, we let them be silly.
If they need a little time to warm up, we give them that time.
Sometimes the most beautiful photographs happen when your child isn't looking at the camera at all.
Maybe they're laughing because Dad made a ridiculous face. Maybe they're dancing in the living room. Maybe they're curled up next to you. Maybe you’re nose-to-nose, giggling together. Maybe I catch that little wrinkle of the nose they make when they’re really, really happy.
Those are the moments I’m looking for.
I want to capture connection, not perfection.
This is the heart of my approach to family photography. I want to photograph the way your family actually feels together.
The belly laughs.
The tiny hands.
The big hugs.
The dancing.
The teetering toddler.
The nose-to-nose giggles.
The way your child reaches for you.
The way siblings pile onto the couch.
The little expressions you know so well.
Those are the photographs that make you stop and smile years later.
And honestly? Those moments usually happen when nobody is trying too hard to create them.
A no-pressure family photography experience
I’ve had so many families tell me after their session that it was fun and so much better than they expected.
I think a big part of that comes from my no-pressure style. I’m not interested in forcing your family into a bunch of poses that don't feel like you. Instead, I redirect when I need to. I give kids choices. I encourage movement. I follow their lead when it makes sense, and I gently guide things along when we need a little direction. There’s still plenty of guidance—you won’t be left wondering what to do—but it doesn’t feel stiff or overly posed. Over the years, one of the biggest things I’ve learned about photographing families is that being calm and patient with children makes such a difference. Kids can feel pressure. They can also feel when everyone is relaxed. So that’s what I want our session to feel like. Relaxed. Playful. Easy.
Lifestyle family photography in your Miami home
I absolutely love lifestyle photography because your home gives us a place where your family already knows how to be yourselves. We can cuddle on the couch, make a snack, dance in the kitchen, read a favorite book, play in the kids' rooms, or simply hang out together. And no, your house does not have to look like it belongs in a magazine.
Life happens. Toys happen. Laundry happens. Kids happen! We’ll work with what you have, and I’ll guide you toward the spaces and light that photograph beautifully. The goal isn't to create a picture-perfect version of your family. The goal is to document your family as you are right now. Because these little people aren't going to stay little forever. The most important thing? Have fun. My main goal during your family session is simple: I want everyone to have a good time.
Because when everyone is relaxed and having fun, the best photographs happen naturally. You don't have to worry about whether your kids are cooperating. You don't have to make them sit still. You don't have to create the perfect family photo.
Just bring your family, your personalities, and yourselves. I'll take care of the rest and if your kids spend the entire session laughing, dancing, running around, cuddling you, and being completely themselves? Perfect. That sounds like exactly the kind of session I want to photograph.
