Down by the Sea: The Beauty of Sunrise Maternity Photography in Miami


Beach maternity sessions have a special place in my heart. The ocean, the soft morning breeze, the movement of a beautiful flowing dress, and the warm glow of the rising sun create a setting that feels both romantic and timeless.

For expecting moms who love the beach, sunrise is one of my favorite times to capture maternity portraits. The morning light is soft and beautiful, the shoreline is peaceful, and the entire experience feels like a little escape.


Here in South Florida, we're lucky to have some incredible coastal locations right in our backyard. Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park and South Beach are two of my favorite spots for beach maternity photography, each offering its own beautiful backdrop. For this particular session, we headed to Bill Baggs to capture a collection of dreamy sunrise maternity portraits.

Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park is one of my favorite locations for a more natural beach setting. Between the beautiful shoreline, coastal scenery, and peaceful morning atmosphere, it offers so many opportunities for creating beautiful maternity portraits.

As the sun began to rise, we took advantage of the gorgeous morning light to capture a variety of portraits. From romantic full-length images to more intimate details celebrating mom's growing belly, each photograph told a little part of her story.

South Beach is another location I love for maternity sessions. It offers its own signature Miami coastal feel, making it a beautiful option for moms who envision ocean-inspired portraits with a little more of that classic South Florida atmosphere.

Each location has its own personality, and I love helping families find the setting that best fits their vision.

The Early morning magic


A little planning goes into making everything come together, especially for sunrise sessions.

Since we want to take advantage of that gorgeous morning light, hair and makeup will need to begin quite early so we're ready before heading to the beach. Yes, that alarm might go off a little earlier than usual! But between having your hair and makeup professionally done, slipping into your favorite gown, and stepping onto the shoreline as the sun rises, the experience is well worth it.The light, the scenery, and those quiet moments by the water create portraits that are hard to replicate at any other time of day.

A season worth celebrating


Pregnancy is a chapter filled with anticipation, changes, and so many little moments that deserve to be remembered. Before you know it, your little one will be in your arms, and this season will become a beautiful part of your family's story.
