6 degrees of separation
Not gonna lie, it was hot during this session. Dad was sweating, I was sweating, and yet somehow, we managed to make magic. When we planned this session, we agreed to shoot at a super well known park in Miami, FL. Mathesson Hammocks Park. I know it like the back of my hand. But the thing is, when we said Mathesson Hammocks, mom thought we meant the man-made beach at Mathesson, and I thought we were doing it at the actual park where there is significant tree coverage. I felt so terrible because it wasn't until the morning-of, that I realized we had miscommunicated about the location.
It happens! But it had never happened to me!
And it just so happens that she was referred by a family friend, and is somehow almost related to me, and I am pretty sure we must have known each other as children, will confirm later lol.
I was nervous about how mom would react. Will she be upset? Is she going to leave a bad review? Should I just do the photos at the beach? I was STRESSED! And then all my worries melted away when I heard her say my three favorite words, "I trust you!".
She trusted that we might actually have a heat stroke if we went to the beach at 9am, and she trusted her outfits would still look great if we were in the park. She trusted my vision, my eye, my expertise; she trusted me. I really appreciated those words, because this was her first session with me. She trusted me without knowing the outcome, and I am so happy I didn't let her down.
Note to my readers: Beach sessions are not ideal in the late mornings, I only shoot around sunrise and sunset to have the best and most pleasant experience.
Another successful session in the books, THANK YOU and welcome to the fam!
