Christmas in July: The Magic Behind Creating Holiday Memories

If you know me, you know just how much I love Christmas. It's more than just a holiday—it's a feeling. The twinkling lights, the traditions shared through generations, the excitement on children's faces, and the warmth that fills a home during this season are some of the many reasons it holds such a special place in my heart.

Christmas has always been my favorite season to photograph because there is a kind of magic that simply can't be recreated any other time of year. Families slow down, children are filled with wonder, and the simplest moments become cherished memories that last a lifetime.

Behind the magic

What many families may not realize is that Christmas magic at The Loving Lens begins long before December arrives. The moment my final Santa and Christmas sessions wrap up, I'm already dreaming about the next holiday season. I begin gathering inspiration, planning new experiences, and thinking through every little detail that will make each family's visit feel magical from the moment they walk through the studio doors.

Every year brings a fresh opportunity to create something beautiful, but the heart behind my Christmas sessions always remains the same—to capture the love, joy, and connection that make the holiday season so unforgettable.

Every family has their own christmas story

Every Christmas session tells a story. It's never just about the perfectly coordinated outfits, the beautiful holiday set, or the photo that ends up on your Christmas card. It's about everything in between—the excitement of a child meeting Santa, the laughter shared between siblings, the quiet moments between parents, the love celebrated by couples, and even the furry family members who complete your home.

Christmas looks different for every family, and that's exactly what makes it so special.

For some, it's celebrating a baby's very first Christmas. For others, it's watching siblings continue traditions they've shared for years, documenting another chapter in your love story, or including the pets who have been by your side through every season of life. Whether your holidays are filled with little ones, grandparents, four-legged family members, or your favorite person in the world, your story deserves to be documented in a way that feels authentic to you.

These Are the Moments You'll Remember

These are the moments I love preserving—the genuine smiles, the sweet cuddles, the silly giggles, and the little details that make your family unlike any other. Years from now, these photographs will transport you right back to this season and remind you of the love, joy, and excitement that filled your home during the holidays.

A tradition i treasure every year

One of my favorite parts of Christmas isn't just creating beautiful portraits—it's welcoming back so many familiar faces. There is something incredibly special about seeing my Loving Lens families return year after year. Watching your babies grow into toddlers, seeing little personalities blossom, and catching up on all of life's milestones is one of the greatest gifts this job has given me.

This year, I can't wait to make even more magical memories together! Santa will be back, ready to welcome every child with open arms, and we'll be adding a fun new tradition by making reindeer food together to take home for Christmas Eve. I already know there will be lots of laughter, excited little faces, and unforgettable moments that your family will treasure for years to come.

Whether you're joining us for your very first Santa Experience or returning for another year of holiday tradition, I'm so excited to celebrate this season with you. Thank you for allowing me to be a small part of your family's Christmas story. I truly can't wait to see my Loving Lens family again, meet new families, and create another season full of joy, wonder, and memories that will last for generations.
