A branding session that felt like home
Your branding session does not have to fit into a specific box. It does not have to look like anyone else’s. The best sessions are the ones where you can look at the images and immediately say, yes, that is me.
This lovely branding session was exactly that. Catalina brought so much of herself into the space, creating a session that felt personal, warm, colorful, and full of heart. As a proud Colombian, being connected to her roots is an important part of who she is, and I loved seeing that reflected throughout her session. From the fresh fruits connected to Colombia to the beautiful, bright colors surrounding her, every little detail added something meaningful to the story we were creating.
Catalina is the founder of Awaken Prana Press, an independent publishing house dedicated to making Ayurvedic wisdom accessible for modern families. Her work is centered around sharing knowledge, holistic practices, and the things that can help transform the way we live. But during her branding session, we also wanted to capture the person behind her work.
The woman behind the business. The woman shaped by her family, her culture, her Colombian roots, and the experiences that have made her who she is today. And I think that is what made this session feel so special. It was not just about creating beautiful photos for her brand. It was about creating images that felt like her.
Her Biggest Love: Her Family
One of my favorite parts of this session was that she included her mom and dad. There was something so wholesome about having them there. You could feel the love between them and the pride they have for one another. For her, her parents are such an important part of her story, and I loved that she chose to include them in a session that was all about representing who she is. Because the truth is, our stories do not begin with us. We are shaped by where we come from, the people who raised us, the traditions we carry, and the love that has followed us through life.
A Little Taste of Colombia
Of course, we also had to bring in something she loves: cooking. Fresh fruits, beautiful ingredients, and bright colors filled the space, creating a setting that felt vibrant and joyful. There was something so beautiful about watching her prepare and share food that connected her back to her Colombian roots. It was not about creating a picture-perfect kitchen scene. It was about capturing something real. Something that represents her. And that is exactly what made it so special.
Your Branding Session Can Be Anything You Want It to Be
This session is such a beautiful example of what branding photography can be. Branding is not just about sitting in front of a camera with a laptop and taking a few professional headshots. It can be that, of course but it can also be so much more.
It can include your family.
It can celebrate your culture.
It can take place in a space that feels like home.
It can include the things you create, the food you love, the traditions you carry, and the colors that make you happy.
Your branding session should tell people something about you before you even say a word. And that is what I loved most about this one. It was truly her own. Full of color, culture, family, love, and the little pieces that make her story uniquely hers. There is no one way to create a branding session and honestly, that is the beauty of it. Let's make something that feels like you.
